Live Music with Crimson Skye
California-based singer and songwriter Crimson Skye performs with a sense of wonder and inner contemplation that’s best exemplified in her latest full-length release, The Far Side.
“Life is fragile and fleeting, yet boundless,” Skye believes. This message is woven throughout her songs. Her performances have garnered her a multi-generational following, leading to thousands of her albums sold.
Once Skye closes her eyes in a performance, it begins her deep dive inward; connecting with her inner self and expressing those transmissions through her music.
Ever since Skye self-financed and released her 2014 debut album Between The Frets at age 19, she has continued to release projects including the acclaimed 2016 release, April Underwater. All of Skye’s projects have in some way been inspired by the seasons of life as well as the death of her mother at a very young age.
2018 consisted of playing over 150 shows and forming her now fully developed band.
In 2019, Skye precautiously underwent major surgery and just months later, a global pandemic hit. But as soon as physically able, she hit the ground running.
Skye released her first project with the band, The Window, on New Year’s Eve of 2020.
The prolific singer released her debut music video for the single “Deck of Cards” off of her 2020 album, The Window. It won Video of the Year at the 2021 Bakersfield Music Awards where she also won the award for 2020 Artist of the Year.
Years ago, Skye coined the term “Raw Music for the People” to encompass the intention behind her music. “I use my music to heal myself and to heal others,” says Skye. “I am a vessel.”
The Far Side is a beautiful manifestation and expression of Skye’s intentions, beliefs, and experiences. She will be touring in support of the album through 2022.
