Masterclass on Nero d’Avola (WINE CLUB ONLY)
Cost: $35 Wine Club members ($55 Retail)
Nero d’Avola: it’s been around forever, so why haven’t people heard of it? A popular staple on Broken Earth’s wine list, it’s taken many tasters by surprise. Now’s the time to explore this fantastic varietal alongside its traditional winemaking techniques.
These varietally themed tastings are designed to give attendees an in-depth understanding of both the traditional grape varieties and the more obscure ones that Broken Earth is introducing to the Paso Robles region.
Along with Broken Earth’s own examples, guests will be presented with a number of international wines that represent the origins and current trends with each variety. The history and origins of each varietal will be explained, and the different characteristics of country of origin, region, producer and production style will be explored through tasting.
Chris Cameron, our Director of Winemaking will lead the tasting and share his many years of knowledge and international experience. The atmosphere will be relaxed but structured and estimated to last 1.5 to 2 hours in duration.
If 11am class fills up, we will start a waitlist for another seating at 2pm: contact our Tasting Room Manager at sarah@brokenearthwinery.com with questions).
