2019 PULL Merlot

Merlot as a variety possesses a virtual myriad of personalities. Our style utilizes its strength through purity of fruit. Immediately on the nose coffee and toffee, bitter dark chocolate and spices of nutmeg and vanilla abound. The subtle, smoky oak lingers in the background with hints of anise sneaking through. The bouquet alone leaves you eager for more and the palate does not disappoint. It exhibits “juiciness” of fruit with mouthwatering red berries dominating that leads to a big and bold wine with layers of spice. While the wine would be considered of ‘middle’ weight the sheer presence of so much flavour is surprising.

Fully opaque, but filled with violets and deep ruby reds. The gorgeous color is only a precursor to a big and bold wine with layers of spice. Maraschino cherry and black plum fruit coat the mouth for a sultry red wine that pairs perfectly with lamb or duck.
